Pre-Contact Training
This method is commonly referred to as two feet on, two feet off. It is a reliable way teach your dog to touch within the yellow zone on the decent of the contact obstacles.

This is a five part series demonstrating the process of starting your contact training on a set of steps around your home. Do this before introducing your dog to the actual contact obstacles. This is great way to practice contacts at home, and it will help your dog to have a solid understanding once the agility obstacles are introduced.
